Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) continues to increase in the world, also in Indonesia. More than 90% of cases of diabetes are type II, 50% of which go undetected. Diabetes can be prevented, preferably since adolescence. Currently, the health of teenagers is quite worrying because they suffer from many health problems, one of which is being overweight which is one of the risks of diabetes. besides the rise of advertisements that encourage teenagers to consume sweet foods, especially sweet drinks. The aim of the study: to develop a screening and education applications for diabetes prevention in adolescent. This is the development and research study, with mix methods approach. The stage begins with a needs analysis, followed by idea development, prototype making, and small group trials. This study  resulted in a web-based application called “Asked-Sobiro”, consisting of the contents: my data, my quiz, what is diabetes?, am I at risk?, what should I do?. Substance and media validation by experts show a value of 87.5-97.5, this indicates the Asked-Sobiro application is feasible to use to prevent diabetes in adolescents. All of teenagers (respondens) have risk of suffering from diabetes in the next 10 years. The Asked-Sobiro application has been proven to increase respondents' knowledge about diabetes and how to screen it.
